Cat treatment with interferon

Sadly, to this day, FeLV/FIV is in INCURABLE DISEASE IN CATS, as this illness relies on immunodeficiency, but with the proper care provided, it can be kept at bay.

This medication is called Omega Virbagen Interferon, which can temporarily fix the affected cat’s immune systems, but it must be administered with veteranian’s advice only! Our first go to is the Klapka veteranian’s office, where many of our cats, whose condition was critical had successfully recovered, every personel at this office works with the utmost care, maximum knowledge, high levels of experience and with love, to provide support for any cat who tested positive.

In order to become a veteranian, one must get a degree at the Veteranian’s University, and needs to always visit various conferences to obtain the latest & most reliable information regarding these topics. The team at the Klapka veteranian’s office seems to be really expert at these.

As the team consists of many people, they also always discuss everything relevant with each other, they are very helpful towards anybody, they do their jobs perfectly & with maximum technical knowledge & experience.

They can also provide help to independent veteranians, their phone number is: 06-23-451-103 / 06-30-263-7762 and they can also be contacted via e-mail at: klapkaallatklinika@gmail.com. My name is Czapáry Veronika, feel free to refer to any of my studies.

There is a 150-pages long medical book about treating cats with Omega Virbagen Interferon, Virac provides a free download from here.

Many people had asked us about, what they should do, if they have a cat, who tested positive for leucosis. At the moment our only answers are: the Klapka veteranian’s office and the usage of Interferon.

INTERFERON works by stimulating the immune systems to activate it’s macrophages & so-called „Natural Killer” cells, to respond. It works similarly to antigens, it provides a cell with a signal to signal the helper cells to start producing antigens. Like a lieutenant telling the soldiers to begin fighting, in this case, against the infecting virus. The reason, why these cells remain dormant is because the effects of the FeLV or FIV virus had weakened them.

You need to know, that FIV is nowhere near as serious as FeLV. Only about 5 percent of FIV-diagnosed cats die, meanwhile, in case of FeLV infected, almost half of the infected cats die. So, the number of cats dying from FeLV is ten times more, than cats dying from FIV.

Interferon administration can be compared to burning grass. The virus will die & became dormant for a while, but eventually, it will resurface. Therefore, it needs to be redone over and over again. As this illness cannot be cured yet, Interferon can keep it bay for a while. Some cats require less amounts of interferon. We only administer interferon, if the virus is manifesting and it can be kept at bay with only small doses.

Unfortunately, there’s almost a 50 percent chance, that it won’t work. This can be only confirmed after trying, then retrying two weeks later. If it doesn’t work the second time, it means it probably won’t work on the affected cat. It is impossible to determine, why it only works on some cats.

IN CASE OF ILLNESSES REGARDING THE AFFECTED CAT’S KINDEY OR LIVER, THE DOSAGE NEEDS TO BE HALVED!!! If the cat is diagnosed with lymphoma, it’s not necessary. Many parameters need to be taken to account, in order to determine the necessary dosage for the affected cat. This should only be done by a certified veteranian. Cats, whose kreatinin-amount is above 80 percent need to be treated as a cat with kidney problems. For example, if the upper limit is 140, then, at 120, the cat already needs to be considered to have kidney problems. The IRIS diagnostics can provide detailed information.

ANYBODY CAN MAKE FUNDRAISER FOR INTERFERON & CAN PUBLICALLY PUBLISH AN ACCOUNT NUMBER. It is better to save up some cash for it, instead of letting your cat die. Keep all your relevant bills for further reference. Making a donation for us is also a gift for us.

IN CASE OF ANEMIC CATS, this is the very first type of medication I would provide, followed by interferon (In case the aforementioned medication doesn’t help).

MOST IMPORTANT:

  1. Amino B-plex: 2 x 0,5 milliliters per day.
  2. Vetri Dmg (Dm Guard can’t be used, as it has a different type of carrier): 2 x 0,5 milliliters per day.
  3. ARANESP vaccination: 0,1 milliliters per week.
  4. Food: broiled chicken breast, broccoli, broiled beetroot, small amounts of broiled beef liver. (In case the cat doesn’t have kidney problems – Any food rich in irons is applicable)
  5. Pantaprazol (Provides protection for gastric system): 2 x 2,5-5 milligrams
  6. In serious case, blood transfusion is necessary! One of our cat’s hematocritic level used to be at 14, it repaired back to a stable level of 30 after a successful transfusion. The cat survived, he also used to have breathing problems, and without the transfusion, he probably would have died. The daily dose of interferon needs to be administered right after transfusion, followed by Catosal, Neovit B and the ARANESP vaccination within one hour. CATOSAL & NEOVIT B need to be administered daily for the following 2 to 5 days, according to the cat’s condition, in case there was a transfusion. If there was no transfusion, only Amino B Plex is necessary.

Another thing, that can help anemic cats is a weekly dosage of eritropoethyne vaccination. It’s a hormone that helps the bone marrow develop red blood cells. The following pack contains five doses (Link in hungarian):

So far, we tried two different types of interferon care. Both of them provided to be successful. A pack of interferon costs 33500 forints & contains a total of 10Me units.

Other medications include Bonomarlot & Zylexis, but unfortunately, no research, veteranian or scientific had proven, that any of these medication had worked for anyone, who used them. Omega Virbagen Interferon is a licensed medication, which’s positive effects are proven by research in the book. We tried using Zylexis, but it didn’t work for us. I can provide pictures of the now empty capsules, just to show that we tried a 6 pack version, we only got rid of one dose.

OUR VETERANIAN’S OFFICE follows the following protocols (There are 10 more protocols to be found in the books):

1. MOST COMMON PROTOCOL:

CATS SUFFERING FROM ANEMIA AND/OR MOUTH ULCERS: 1 NE/ kilograms on days 0 to 4 -> a 5 day-long care with subcutan, followed by another 5 day-long care 2 weeks later.

If the affected cat isn’t feeling well, or exhibits any symptoms (i.e. mouth ulcers, diarrhea, decrease is hematocritic levels), the procedure needs to be.

2. CATS SUFFERING FROM CALICI VIRUS INFECTION & SEVERE CASE OF MOUTH ULCERS. In case of cats suffering from severe mouth ulcers, the protocol completely cured the problem.

PROTOCOL: 2,5 NE/KILOGRAMS on days 0., 2., és 4..

The rest should be administered with infusion, 1 milliliters of buccalisan, diluted in 500 milliliters of salsol also needs to be administered daily.

This protocol needs to be repeated after 14 days. More details can be found in the book.

3. STOMATOSIS

PROTOCOL:

The procedure was done under general anesthesia, both inflamed sides of the palate was injected with 0,1 milliliters of Virbagen Omega. We needed to double the dosage in order to make it work.

This treatment needs to be repeated after 15 days.

(For further care, the treatment needs to be repeated the same way every 15 days, 2 times more total. Following this, the vials containing the medicine need to be unfrozen & diluted in 5 milliliters of infusion fluid. Using about 0,5 milliliters of this mixture every day, the cat needs to be sprayed orally. The mixture needs to be kept cool in a refrigerator, not in a freezer. This way, it can be preserved for about 10 days. Following that, another 0,1 milliliters of medicine needs to be diluted in infusion fluid.)

4. BALANCE CARE.

PROTOCOL:

1NE / KILOGRAMS / DAY, every second day, the protocol lasts 10 days total. It needs to be repeated 6 months later.

THE FOLLOWING SUPPLEMENTS CAN BE INCLUDED:

– AMINO B PLEX (Dosage: 2 x per day) – Helps in case of anemia

– ARANESP VACCINE (0,1 milliliters every week) – Erithropoetin – Helps in case of anemia

– VETRI DMG (2 x 0,5 milliliters)

– BIOGENIC IMMUNITY (Contains beta glucan, which also helps with activating the „natural killer” cells.)

– LIZIN CAPSULE, in case of sneezing (It’s a recent, strong antiviral medicine)

IN CASE OF LARGE SCALE INFLAMMATION: Painkiller „ONSIOR”, which also cures inflammations (Follow the veteranian’s advice)

IN CASE OF MOUTH ULCERS: STOMODINE GEL (5-6 times a day)

One of our cats „HARCOS” (Warrior) had his hematocritic levels at 14, after using up 10 boxes of interferon, it went up to a stable level of 30. (A “CSODA” KÉPEKBEN)

All his medical reports can be found in his album.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT KEEPING FIV/FELV POSITIVE CATS WITH NEGATIVE ONES: THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT KEEPING FIV+ OR FELV+ CATS TOGETHER WITH NEGATIVE CATS

DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT INTERFERON CARE:

THIS IS WHAT INTERFERON DOES:

1. In case of healthy cells, it prevents the spread of the virus by linking two cells together in order to activate the immune system.

2. It recognized & destroys cells infected with the virus.

3. It attaches a signal on the macrophages about how to defend against the virus – It works similarly to vaccinations.

4. It activates the so-called „Natural Killer”-cells, which have been weakened by the virus previously.

IF YOU WISH TO LEARN MORE ABOUT INTERFERON, PLEASE CONSIDER WATCHING:

WE, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, can provide independent people, or ORGANIZATIONS care for their Leucosis or FIV positive cat for the rest of it’s life. It costs a total of 300000 forints (which includes the price of 4 doses of interferon). It can also be paid in two installments: 150000 forints at the moment of the transfer, the second half of 150000 forints needs to be paid within 1-2 years after the transfer. Even in the case of a cat with no symptoms, signs of leucosis can surface at any moment and care for leucosis is even more expensive. Futhermore, FeLV is a serious disease that can easily lead to the death of the cat, and it saddens us every time we lose a cat to an incurable disease.

We are also planning to create a rehabilitation center, we managed to raise most of the necessary funds. Until that, our positive tested cats are quarantined on the second floor, as they tend to get nervous, if kept in cages! Stress can also have negative effects to their recovery, even if it’s done with friendly intentions, keeping them in cages can end up having really bad effects, they often become depressed if kept in cages.

It is very dangerous to keep many FeLV positive cats close to each other without the rehabilitation center, they can end up contracting a new viruses or bacteria. FeLV has three known sub-types and it’s important to know, whichever sub-type the infected cat had contracted, therefore it is very important to keep them quarantined for a month at least, or, in case of newcomers, for a previously determined time period.

My FelV positive cats are lucky to have a 35m2 large 2nd floor, that acts as a quarantining chamber, where I can take care for them. Meanwhile, my other cats live ont he ground floor. My house is also equipped with a small (50m2) enclosure for them. Beginning from June, we are planning to build a much larger (645m2) enclosure in my garden.
